40 Years of Operations: AGUNSA Celebrates the Anniversary of Its Punta Arenas Branch, the Southernmost in Chile
In March 2026, AGUNSA celebrated one of the most significant milestones in its history: the 40th anniversary of its Punta Arenas branch, consolidating its role as a key player in logistics operations in southern Chile.
In 1986, the need arose to establish an office in the city to serve vessels from shipping companies NYK and KKK as part of the Methanol Project. Additionally, services were provided to CCNI during its transit through the Strait of Magellan, further strengthening the strategic role of operations in the region.
In April of that same year, AGUNSA, together with TRANCONTAINERS, established Transuniversal Estibas Limitada, with the aim of developing port services in the region.
By February 1992, the company became a public limited company, expanding its scope and consolidating its position in the logistics and port industry.
Over these four decades, the Punta Arenas branch has consistently demonstrated its ability to adapt and grow, operating under demanding geographic conditions while maintaining high service standards.
In this context, AGUNSA recognizes and highlights all employees who have been part of this journey, especially those who are currently part of the Punta Arenas team. Their commitment, professionalism, and dedication have been essential to sustaining and projecting operations over time.
This milestone not only marks a 40-year trajectory but also reaffirms AGUNSA’s commitment to the country’s logistics development, connecting territories and strengthening its presence in southern Chile.
